Richard Corbridge

I have a wealth of experience in the Health and Clinical Research sector leading various informatics delivery elements. Business change, benefits management, Information Security, IT development and procurement and implementation across national and local arenas are my specialities.

I have worked for more than fifteen years in Information Technology and Change Management environments, developing strategy to ensure benefit is gained from Information Technology and implementing solutions into various care settings at a national level.

I have been responsible for business change across various health care work flows ranging from the transformation of Primary Care clinical messaging to the design and development of an “Honest Broker” concept for the delivery of health care data to researchers within the confines of Information Governance and security principles.

I have experience of working at a very senior level across health sectors, working with senior department officials, cabinet office, BMA, RCGP and MDU. I have confidently represented the Department of Health in the USA and across Europe on many occasions.

I currently lead the Knowledge and Information division of the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network (NIHR CRN). This division is responsible for providing Information Systems and Business Intelligence to a workforce of around 10,000 funded research related staff in the NHS who are in turn responsible for the recruitment of over 630,000 participants into clinical studies and trials in England.

My experience of working with Health Care System Suppliers pre-dates the National Programme for IT; I have led several successful initiatives and have an excellent reputation with all suppliers in this sector.

I enjoy my work thoroughly and am committed to my role and the delivery of benefits to patients and health care professionals through business change and information technology
