Topic
Cyber Security Metrics: How can we provide a snapshot of an organisation’s cyber resilience to external stakeholders?

Awareness of cyber threats continues to grow but how do you know if an organisation has taken all the necessary steps to protect important and valuable data? Do you know what ‘good’ cyber security looks like for any given organisation. How secure is your supply chain?

As a stakeholder, it can be difficult to know what questions to ask, and whether the answers give you the assurance you need. As yet, there are no metrics that provide this information in an easily accessible and readily available format. Advances in technology can provide sophisticated data analytics however we need to understand how to use these tools most effectively and how they play a part in helping answer the metrics question.

Understanding an organisation’s preparedness to cyber threats is a key component for investors, insurers, customers and many others. How do stakeholders get the information they need to make informed decisions? Will GDPR provide some of the answers?

Join us as we explore cyber security metrics in a joint Government-Industry panel session that promises to be an interesting and lively discussion. We think metrics have an important role to play in cyber security and we’d be delighted if you could attend this RANT session to discuss the issue further.

Thanks for the invitation, it was a great evening with some very interesting discussions. The excellent venue lived up to its impressive image and the food was very good with a good mix of options. The discussion topic was very appropriate, but also the spread of sectors presented also showed that it is quite a transversal topic for our industry. The vendor's knowledge on the topic was very good and thought-provoking. I'd like to be invited to similar RANT events in the future. Really good event, I really enjoyed it and the mix of people.

A thoroughly interesting evening where we were introduced to novel approaches to solving the problems we've failed to address for years
