Deception technology, luxury item or life line?

Is deception technology only for mature security operations or is it an effective cyber security solution to help companies mature their capabilities?  Organisations continue to build their security arsenal, yet advanced threats and insiders continue to breach networks and extract valuable data. Learn how deploying decoys throughout your environment can build the bridge strengthening all the levels in your security stack. Join us for this session where you’ll hear about real-world deployment experiences, the value customers are realising, and what Red Teams are saying about deception-based threat detection.

We are pleased to offer a brand new series of bespoke RANT Events for 2019!   Wine, Craft Beer or Gin tastings will be held on a quarterly basis for up to 20 Information Security End Users.  We work closely with our sponsoring organisation to identify the most appropriate senior level attendees and build a tailored evening around their specific requirements, incorporating a balance of expert tastings, relaxed networking, informative discussion or presenting, in a setting that lends to openly sharing and discussing the latest industry challenges and topics.

Feel free to contact us at: contact@rantevents.com with any questions.

Active Cyber Defence – Shifting the risk without risky shift

In an era when cyber security budgets are reaching record levels at the same time as multiple headlines ranging from mega-breaches, huge financial losses and regulatory fines for non-compliance, how is it possible to really make a difference to organisational cyber security?

There is an increasing clamour for cyber defence teams to start becoming more aggressive than previously.  Going over and above passive measures, Active Cyber Defence (ACD) is increasingly being touted as the next evolution of countering our cyber adversaries.  But defining and deploying ACD is challenging, it means different things to different organisations, potentially encompasses a huge range of activity and can also skirt legalities.

Pete will talk about the benefits and challenges to developing an ACD mindset and approach within your organisation and discuss how legally employing it is about more than technology.  He will also discuss how ACD needs to be carefully considered and incorporated into defensive culture and skills as well as strategic decision making and risk management.

The evening was a perfect blend of entertaining, useful networking, banter and opinion. Oh, and the food and drink were particularly good. I'm looking forward to joining in future events.
